Mattiace Properties, Inc., founded in 1979, maintains its headquarters in Downtown Jackson, Mississippi. Since 1985, the area of concentration has been on upscale shopping centers, retail strip shopping centers, malls, office buildings and industrial sites for major development activity in Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana. The Southeast's commercial real estate industry has often been on a different cycle from the rest of the country. Knowledge of this sector and strong tenant relationships, combined with the best people, has been key in the company’s development of more than 5,000,000 square feet.
The acquisition of two companies in the late nineties brought together a team of professional property managers, leasing and brokerage professionals, and finance and accounting professionals. This property management and leasing and brokerage company operates as The Mattiace Company.
Attracting quality tenants to its properties owned and managed is perhaps the most important part of the Mattiace process. We take great pride in the strong tenant relationships we’ve developed over the years. We’ve built a solid reputation for quality site selection and professional execution of the leasing and development process.
Mattiace Development Company is responsible for bringing many “firsts” to Mississippi.
Mattiace has played a major role in the Jackson Metropolitan office market, currently managing in excess of one million square feet of office in the Jackson Central Business District. The Company has accumulated information over the past 25 years for business professional firms, medical facilities and government agencies that provides Mattiace with a distinct advantage for management and leasing. Our relationship with the medical community and colleges are valuable for leasing and back filling vacant office space.
The company maintains active membership in the Institute of Real Estate Management, Building Owners and Manager’s Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, Jackson Association of Realtors®, Mississippi Association of Realtors®, and the Mississippi Commercial Association of Realtors. Mattiace was the 2005 recipient of the City of Ridgeland and Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Leadership Award, has been named in the Top 100 Owners and Managers in the nation by Retail Traffic magazine, and Mattiace and affiliated companies including The Mattiace Company, Mattiace Properties, Inc. and Mattiace Restaurant Company, were named as a Top 100 Private Company in Mississippi by the Mississippi Business Journal.
The majority of Mattiace development projects are in the Jackson, Mississippi area, most recently, redevelopment and new building projects in the Fondren area of Jackson, The Forum at Grandview in Madison, and the largest undertaking to date, Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland.
The lifestyle center has received numerous design and development awards and was named Best Shopping Destination by Mississippi Magazine and was chosen Family Favorite Shopping Center / Mall by Parents & Kids Magazine. The site of the development was crucial, with its proximity to the Capital and affluent suburbs along with its accessibility and visibility from Interstate 55 and Highland Colony Parkway and easy access from Interstate 220 and the Natchez Trace. Andrew Mattiace stated, “We’ve been able to recruit the finest in national, regional and local tenants to create a mix that provides for cross-shopping among the stores. The center design, architectural hardscapes, landscaping and water features come together to create a vibrant destination offering the visitor a unique environment second to none in this region in terms of an exciting shopping, dining and entertainment experience. This helps Mississippi’s economic base and enhances the reputation that the area is a great place to live and work.”
